“We love the house but we’ve been up north all summer. After the closing we had a few days of scrambling around for the graduation party and everything went really well. I stayed down for the week after the graduation to try to settle things but then we all packed up and headed home. We are still trying to sell our house up here. Once football starts and I get my older son off to college, we’ll be spending a lot more time in Syracuse at the new house and I’m really looking forward to it. We love the place! Immediately we are going to pave the driveway and put in a turnaround but it is really completely livable and we don’t NEED to do a thing. It’s a great house and we are really happy with it. “I am writing this letter about our experience with Don Gendron in marketing and selling our home. We had been trying to sell the home for about one year. The home was a custom built ranch that we had very little action on despite working with two different real estate agents. The first two agents just kept telling my wife and me to keep lowering the price. We had grown very impatient and after the last contract expired were trying to find the right agent for selling our home. We knew that the market was tough and that we were selling at the high end of the real estate market in CNY and without the right agent we would be in trouble.
At this point we had already moved most of your furniture to our new residence in Buffalo NY. I was going through the mail when I was home for the weekend and I saw a mailing from Mr. Gendron. The mailing said that he was looking for ranches to sell and it caught my attention. I called him and set up an appointment that would be convenient for me as I was working in Buffalo NY. Mr. Gendron came to the house and I was very impressed by the information that he supplied. He went over his sales record and talked about marketing our home and talked about his real estate experience and what he was finding in the market. He was not concerned about the market and was confident he could sell our home at or very near the listing price. I told him that we had already lowered the price over $30,000 and were not willing for that to be the selling strategy.
He looked at the house and then said that he would bring in his interior decorator, Christy, at his cost to give recommendations. He then said that if we listed with him he would be staging furniture that he had in storage to bring the qualities of our home out for the buyers. My wife followed Christy’s recommendations on room colors and Don and Christy brought in furniture to augment the little furniture we had in the home.
The house went on the market and within one week we had an offer that was very close to the asking price and we had a sale. Don continued to work with us through the inspection and closing to make sure that things went well and they did.
Don and Christy had a clear plan and they certainly made the difference in selling our home. I strongly recommend them and I know they will work as hard selling every home they put on the market as they did on yours.”
